Where the Past Year Went

Forgive my blog sin – it has been a year since my last post.
What happened? Short version: we got busy.
Long version: on Monday, July 18th, we were ending our weekend on the Cape (lighthouses and Huey Lewis at the Cape Cod Melody Tent. It was his 60th birthday, and he rocked!). After driving past them twice, we finally found the Three Sisters in Eastham (a sign would be nice) when I got a call from the real estate agent from the condo complex we wanted to live in.
Me: "No, I don't need to ask Rob if he's interested. Can we see it tomorrow? Excellent!"
A unit was opening up in October. Two months may sound like a long time, but we packed, bought the necessities for our new place, and continued the lighthouse hunt.
In the meantime, we also went to Maine, saw two new lighthouses and took the Nuble Lighthouse boat tour. Rob took in the local flavor
and I got busted by the Shawshank fuzz.
We went to Salem for Rob's birthday to see 3 more lighthouses, the reconstructed Yin Yu Tang House from China at the Peabody Essex Museum, and none of the cheap, overplayed faux witch junk.
I am crushing the Fort Pickering Light's head!
The day our new couch was delivered we squeezed in a trip to Beavertail’s open house day. We went to the top (magnificent!),

toured the museum (Fresnel on display, yo!),
and learned that, after a recent visit, Springsteen described it as “worthy of a song.”
So, we moved in, and the holidays hit, then my birthday… and we just don’t know how it got to be a year later.
We know there are three things we love more than ever: each other, writing, and our lighthouse trips. We still want to share all three with you.
